The Florida State College of Business Internship Program is designed for students who are registered for an internship course and have paid the applicable tuition. Eligible students will be able to enroll in the internship course after successfully obtaining an internship and completing the internship application process.
Credit will NOT be given for past internships students must take the internship course concurrently with the internship. Students are eligible for up to three 3 credit hours toward their degree or their major as noted in the chart below.
International internships are eligible for up to six 6 credit hours. Internship courses cannot be repeated. The only exception is GEB This is a variable credit hour course that can be taken for up to 6 credit hours. Therefore, the course will not affect your GPA, but will provide credit hours based on your enrollment. All internships must initially be approved by the internships and career services office or an academic department before being considered for academic credit.
Students must work a minimum of hours during the term. As mentioned earlier, GEB is the only variable credit hour internship course offered by the College of Business. It can be taken for 0 — 6 credit hours. Therefore, the work hour requirement will depend on the credit hours you select see details in chart below.
Students seeking 6 credit hours for one internship can do so by requesting enrollment in GEB for 6 credit hours or by requesting enrollment in two 3-credit hour internship courses e. Formative Experience: All College of Business internship courses have been approved as a Liberal Studies Formative Experience and is thus designed to help you use and develop knowledge by engaging in a hands-on experience outside of the classroom. Formative Experiences provide an alternative way to fulfill one of the two required Scholarship in Practice courses. The General Business internship can be taken for variable credit and is overseen by the Internship Programs Office through a Canvas course.
